Crowns and Bridges
Dental crowns and bridges are natural looking prosthetic teeth which are expertly designed and carefully developed in a laboratory to replace your missing teeth. With recent advancements, the result is a very natural looking tooth or teeth which have both aesthetic appeal and full functionality and lasting durability. These are permanent replacements and do not need to be removed like dentures.
A crown can be made as a cover to slip over the top of the current damaged tooth, providing strength while improving the shape, colour and function of the tooth. Crowns can also be developed to replace any missing teeth and are easily colour matched and will be very hard to distinguish from your natural teeth. The crown is then attached to a dental implant and acts as a brand new, fully functioning and natural looking tooth.
Where multiple teeth are missing, bridges are commonly used instead of dental implants. In this case a bridge is affixed to the surrounding tooth or crowns to ‘bridge’ the gap between.
