Endodontic Treatment

Endodontic treatment, also known as root canal therapy, is focused on relieving the extreme pain and discomfort caused by infections in the soft tissues of your teeth. Every tooth has a soft tissue core which is known as the pulp. It comes up through the root canal of the tooth and contains the blood and nerve tissues used to nourish the tooth as it grows and develops. If the pulp becomes infected, it becomes very painful and uncomfortable requiring endodontic treatment.

Root canal therapy removes the pulp from the infected tooth. The root canal is then thoroughly cleaned and disinfected to remove all bacteria. The cavity left is then filled and sealed to prevent any infection returning in the future. Root canal therapy allows teeth to be saved that would otherwise need to be removed. Not only is the tooth saved, but the full colour and functionality of the tooth remain as normal.

If you are suffering from any pain or discomfort and feel that root canal therapy may be the solution for you, contact our friendly team to arrange a consultation.
